Gateway Saguaro -- Tucson, Arizona

In 2021 we attended CookieCon in Florida which led us on a cross-country journey from San Diego to Orlando. We packed up a trailer filled with goodies for our vendor booth, supplies for my class, and cookies for stops along the way, and we set off on our grand adventure.

This was the perfect trip to make signs for because many of the cities along the way are known for their signage, including Tucson, Arizona. This particular sign featuring a Saguaro design stands 30-feet tall and is located in the center median on N Oracle Rd.

The sign took a year and a half to be built and was erected in 2010. So it is a fairly newer sign in comparison to many of the vintage signs in the area, but it was still very worthy of being turned into a cookie! Some of the signage that was along this road are now extinct, as neon signs are taken down quite often, unfortunately. This sign is a dedication to the signs that were all around this area and is marked as a gateway into Tucson and the Miracle Mile area.
